Отчет «Российский контейнерный рынок» по итогам 9 месяцев текущего года
In October, of the two adjacent terminals – the two largest terminals of Russia – the two terminals operated by GlobalPorts group – one terminal reduced container turnover by 22% year-on-year, the other – increased by 5%. What does this mean? Maybe, that there is still no clear and unambiguous trend to have shaped on the market of container transportation, despite sanctions, despite the fall of the ruble, etc. Why would then InfraNews issue a report based on the results of 9 months? You will not find the answer to this question in the report, but hopefully you will know it after you have read it.
There are still interesting questions the report will answer for you:
- One of the interesting and quite distinct trends noted in the report is the decline of cabotage: where, how and why is the reduced volume of cabotage a significant phenomenon for the market?
- The report notes a clear shift of focus of foreign trade towards Asia and the Far East. How do the shares of the terminals of west and east coast of Russia change? What tools are used to artificially redistribute freight flows between terminals? How effective is the “customs optimization” tool? when does it works and when it doesn’t?
- How do the routes and patterns of container import to Russia change, and what factors determine the trends and changing proportion of countries and ports serving Russian transit?
- Competition between modes of transport moving containerized cargo. What are the prospects for the growth of transit along the Trans-Siberian Railway? How does the railroad successfully compete for containerized cargo with road delivery in Russia?
